Renaissance Theatre Company!

We have a long list of frequently asked questions below. Here are the big ones

Where can I buy tickets?
Click here to go to our calendar, then click the “tickets” link next to the show you want. There are also links to buy tickets on our homepage and on the pages in our listing of shows.

Save $5 when you buy in advance!
All ticket prices are automatically discounted $5 when purchased before the day of the show. Prices go up $5 on the day of the show.

$10 tickets go on sale all at once!
Art is for everyone. So we add a handful of discounted $10 tickets for all performances at the same time we make the regular-price tickets available. These are for our friends on a budget. If you can afford the regular tickets, please help balance out the universe and leave these for people that need them.

20% Group discount!
Buy 8 or more tickets at once, and you’ll receive an automatic 20% off your entire order. We’ll also reserve seats for you so you can sit together.

  • To buy tickets to a show, click on the links on our homepage! Also, the calendar on the homepage usually has a ticket link next to each listing. You’ll get an email with links to your ticket(s). We often scan the QR codes in the tickets at the door. You can also choose to get your tickets by text, and add them to the Wallet on your iPhone. Yay sustainability!

  • For every performance at the Ren, we set aside a handful of affordable $10 tickets. (With sales tax and the $2 fee that pays for our ticketing software, they come in at $12.78 total.) That’s super affordable for the type of works we stage at the Ren. We think Art is for Everyone.

How to get them? The $10 tickets are released for each show when it first goes on sale, right alongside the normal-price tickets. It’s an honor system—you choose what you can afford. So far, we’ve been very impressed by how many people choose the regular-price tickets—they’re leaving the $10 option for our friends on a budget so everyone can come. Solidarity.

(Note! Previously, we put the $10 tickets on sale at noon, on the day before each performance, kind of like “rush tickets” on Broadway. We realized that doesn't give people much time to plan, and also it means a lot of people would wait until the last day to buy tickets, if they even could—lots of people can’t just pause their jobs at noon to check for tickets. It also made it really hard for us to predict sales in advance, which is super important because these shows are people’s jobs. We hope this system will help people get those $10 tickets when they need them.

Speaking of same-day sales, that leads us to…

  • Another new experiment is that you can save $5 on every ticket by purchasing them in advance, at least one day before the show. The price goes up $5 for same-day tickets. (sorry bb procrastinators.) It really really helps us when our patrons buy advance tickets, because it gives us enough time to make decisions about extending a run, or (gulp) combining a show or two that aren’t selling well. A big lesson we’ve learned at the Ren is that our casts, crews, and audiences alway have a much better time when the room is full :)

  • When you buy eight or more tickets to one performance in the same purchase, you’ll automatically get a 20% discount applied to your tickets. For shows with seating, we will even reserve seats for your group so you can sit together. Please check for any details on each ticketing “checkout” page, or email hello@rentheatre.com if you have a question.

  • We want the Ren to be accessible to everyone! If you have any questions, needs, or requests, please send an email to hello@rentheatre.com. Since our shows are often “general admission” seating (without assigned seats), we can often adjust the seating just for you and/or your group to make sure you have a great time. Please also check each ticketing “checkout” page for specific details about our immersive theatre experiences.

  • If you’d like to give the gift of the Ren to someone special, purchase an online gift certificate. You choose the amount, tell us their email address, and we’ll do the rest. Your lucky recipient can redeem it for any show (or more than one, if there’s money leftover), and for any number of tickets, on any date that isn’t already sold-out.

Click here to buy a gift certificate! (It opens in a new tab.)

  • Sure thing. Our tickets are just emails—they have a link to a QR code for each ticket that we scan at the door. Just forward that email to the people coming to the show and tell them which QR codes are theirs, so they know which to show us at the door.

  • Yes, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please email hello@rentheatre.com as soon as you can. Make sure to tell us what’s happened and what you’d like to do instead—we can often reschedule your tickets for another performance, as long as that show isn’t sold out. You’ll get a confirmation email once the change is made.

  • It’s usually 30 minutes before showtime. However, please check your email receipt from when you bought your tickets, or the reminder email we send you on the day of the show.

  • Some are, but not all. It depends on the show. We mark this on our ticketing “checkout” pages, plus the regular web pages, for each show. Go there and you’ll see what we decided based on the show’s content. Unfortunately, due to recent political activity in Florida, we can’t let people younger than 18 into our shows which are marked 18+ even when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Save a tree. At the show, scan the QR code with your phone when you arrive. It will send you to a lovely web page about the show with all the credits, bios, and our sponsors & donors.

  • Click here, we have a whole web page about that! There are also instructions in your ticket email and in the pre-show email you receive on the day of the show.

  • To keep everyone safe, you’ll be asked to go through a screening checkpoint on your way into the building. Our staff will use a metal detector at the door to check for weapons, which are strictly prohibited. Renaissance Theatre Company is private property and we reserve the right to ask you to leave for any reason, at any time.

No large bags or backpacks allowed. Purses are discouraged. If you are traveling when you visit us and need help with this, please email hello@rentheatre.com and we’ll try to help.

Our building has lots of security cameras, and we use a combination of live monitoring and recording to help keep everyone safe.

  • We only accept electronic payments—“tap” payments like Apple Pay, credit/debit cards, or Cash app—for our concessions, tickets, and merch.

Enjoy a beverage! You can walk over to the bar and order, or skip the line and order on your phone—look for a nearby QR code and we’ll deliver it to your seat. (Please have your ID ready. We strictly check IDs, often more than once.) We can refuse service for any reason at any time. We do have a lovely menu of non-alcoholic beverages including some delicious mocktails.

A friendly piece of advice… please don’t pre-game before our shows. Our drinks are pretty cheap + darn good! If you appear intoxicated when you arrive, you’ll be asked to leave. And of course, if you're planning to drink, please choose a designated driver or take a Lyft :)

  • Some weekly events, like Musical Mondays and OTR / off the record, don’t always have advance tickets available online every week. In that case, you just pay at the door. Musical Mondays is a $10 suggested cover, but we just ask you to pay what you can if that’s too much. OTR changes from week to week, but is often $5 or $10 at the door when there are no advance tickets. We accept electronic payments for at-door tickets, too.

Special editions of these events sometimes do have advance tickets, and those are sometimes more expensive—see the ticket page for the event for details.
