Hey y'all!
Thanks for coming to Quickies, the second show of 2024! I hope you love the show.
The Ren produces only original and unique work, and I hope you'll come and see more shows. One very exciting thing happening is that The Ren is making our Off-Broadway debut this summer with From Here. Before we head to NYC, we'll be producing the show here from March 22-May 5th. I hope you'll check it out: fromhere.com.
Also, if you haven't, come and check out our weekly events (Musical Mondays is a weekly cabaret and open mic night, and OTR Wednesdays is a weekly late night show featuring the #art of drag and a celebration of queer culture).
Enjoy the show!

Meet the Cast
Patrice Bloomfield, originally from Jamaica, but raised in central Florida, is a well-known singer and actress living in the Orlando area for over the past 20 years. When not working on a production for theater or her craft as an actress in film and TV, you can find her casting spells as Celestina Warbeck at Diagon Alley in Universal Studios, working with youth in Musical theater or performing locally throughout the area.
Patrece's favorite role to date, was portraying the legendary "Billie Holiday" in "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill" amongst others, and does not take it for granted having the privilege of doing what she loves for a living.
Bradley Cloversettle is thrilled to be out of the house past 8:00pm. He’d like to thank the good folks at REN for making his debut here so gentle and loving. It was a little scary at first, then exhilarating, and now he’s tuckered out. Bradley has recently served on The Gilded Age (HBO) and then the SAG-AFTRA picket lines. Recent theater creds include: Winter Fest OC (Speakeasy Society), Good Boys (Pasadena Playhouse), Machinal (CalArts). Bradley is currently in search for representation and a good mechanic to fix his engine and tire light.
All the love in the world to my family and wife for their never ending support.

Ethan Hoyt is astoundingly appreciative of this team, but more so for the opportunity to collaborate and perform with them. He was an active member of Thespian Society: Troupe 3506! at Lake Mary HS. He wishes others to find as much fulfillment in the Arts as he has, encouraging others to strive to better themselves and seek support always—“Act well your part, there all the honor lies.” -3506 Social @ethanisaachoyt

Cara Noel is so excited to be on stage in this collection of short comedies called Quickies as the characters Dawn, Skylar and Blanche. While she is new to The Ren, she’s no stranger to the playwright, as she can be seen in a couple of Tracey Jane’s multi-award winning short films including Men Are Dogs where she received a Best Actress Award. As Cara continues to work in tv/film, don’t be surprised if you also see her in some other short films & commercials. Her training includes a variety of acting, improv and movement styles with a focus on the Meisner technique. She expresses immense gratitude for the unwavering support of her friends and family and is proud to share her passion with you.
Loudise Ortiz-Hernandez is very excited for her debut at The Renaissance Theatre in Quickies! She recently worked at Theatre Jacksonville before moving to Orlando. She performed in A Socially Distanced Farce as Meg there. Few other performances include The Servant of Two Masters as Clarice; Gypsy as Baby Louise; and Romeo & Juliet as Abraham. Loudise studied Theatre Performance at Jacksonville University, where she received a BFA. When she’s not on stage, she’s outside saving lives as a lifeguard. So many thanks to all her family & friends for being such great supporters!
Giancarlo Osorio is very excited to be working with the Ren for the 1st time in Quickies, fresh off the heels of two national tours (Dogman the Musical & The Lightning Thief), as well as working with Baayork Lee in A Chorus Line. Big thanks to J. Marie, Tracey, and the rest of the cast and crew! Hope you enjoy the show!
Special thanks to his family and loved ones. Te Amo!

J. Marie Bailey (Director) is honored to be the director of Quickies. She just had her directing debut here at THE REN with Qualia, which just closed this past weekend. J. Marie has been directing/acting for over twenty-five years in America and has found her theatre home in Orlando. Some of her professional directing credits include but are not limited to: Missoula Children’s Theatre, American Family Theatre, and now the Renaissance Theatre Company. You might have seen some of her work here in Florida at Osceola Arts including, Steel Magnolias and the Orlando Weekly’s award-winning Pippin. J.Marie was also awarded Orlando’s Best Director in 2020. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in Dramaturgy & Performance and George Fox University with an M.A. in Leadership. She can only do this creative work with the love and support of her family and her chosen family.
Donald Rupe (Producer) is the co-founder of Renaissance Theatre Company with Chris Kampmeier (and a lot of help from their friends). An accomplished theatre-maker based in Orlando, Donald has written and helped to create a number of successful theatrical productions, including: Nosferatu; Bright Young Things; From Here (fromhere.com); Flying Lessons (critically-acclaimed at the New York Musical Festival in 2019); Oscar Wilde and Jesus Christ Walk into a Gay Bar; Once I Laughed; Lenox Ave. and others. Donald also founded a community theatre program at another company in Orlando, where for five years he ran a traditional season of productions with much success. Donald's numerous directing credits span the better part of twenty years and many wonderful companies throughout Central Florida. Rupe was also an accomplished educator, having served on the part-time faculty of Valencia College for over a decade and as an award-winning high school educator. Donald received his degrees in Theatre from New York University and Florida State University.
Bekah Lugo (Stage Manager) can’t believe that her real life job is at the Renaissance Theatre Company. She helps manage all of the events at the Ren and works to help each production be successful. That’s different for every show and she loves it. She’d like to thank her friends and family for all of their love and support during this time in her life and she hopes you enjoy the show. Performance Credits: Camilla Office Holiday Party Extravaganza Show, Maggie in Beacon Street, Nurse in Dos Familias, Godmother/Giant in Into the Woods. Her favorite shows that she’s stage managed are Josephine, part of Bright Young Things, and Lenox Ave.
Joey Coombs (Scenic Painting) was originally brought on as general overhire, he has been part of the main staff since March of 2022 when he took over the responsibility of the scenic charge. As many others here do, Joey wears many hats at the Ren. Other than painting he also does some carpentry work, makes all the neon signs, does some design work, and oversees the lights and photo op sets for our weekly drag show, Off The Record (Wednesdays), as well as some other special events/projects. Some of Joey's previous work includes designing the Church and VBar for Nosfera2, the Cataco(o)mbs and the Conservatory for Nosf3ratu, and the Winter Wonderland for the Winter Late Night Party Drag Exxxtravaganza Show ("who names these?"); the photo op sets for both annual fundraisers, Money, Please; and lights for the internet breaking RENAISSANCE @ the Renaissance drag show amongst other things. ig: @poetictoast
Nick Erickson (Sound Design) Born and raised on the west coast, Nick discovered sound design for theater at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR. After graduating he spent his early career freelancing in Portland OR where he worked at theaters such as Third Rail, H2M, P.E.T.E., Profile Theatre. Nick received his MFA in Sound Design for Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University in 2018, before moving to Florida, to become the resident sound and projections designer for the Studio Theatre Tierra Del Sol. Four years later, he's here, seeking new horizons in the wilds of Orlando! When he's not doing sound, Nick can be found holding his PS4 controller too tightly, watching his cats cuddle and rearranging his music studio.
Philip Lupo (Lighting Design) is a regional Lighting, Sound, and Video Designer whose previous work at Renaissance includes Nosferatu and Office Holiday Party. Other design credits include Little Shop of Horrors (Orlando Shakes), Monster Stomp (SeaWorld Orlando), and Into the Woods (DreamCatcher Theatre). His non-theatrical lighting projects can be seen in television stations from Palm Beach to Las Vegas. Philip also serves as the Production Manager and Technical Director for Florida State Junior Thespians, helping develop the performers and designers of tomorrow. He could not be more excited to be working with Renaissance to bring this exciting work to Central Florida audiences. Get in touch at www.philiplupo.com.
John Rawlins (Lead Carpenter) joined The Ren in 2022, having previously worked with Donald at CFCArts Theater. As Lead Carpenter, John helps to create unique sets for each production, converting all the different spaces of the Ren into new worlds. John leads the construction team in planning and executing Donald, Philip, and Joey’s crazy ideas.
A Note from the Playwright
Love may be all we need, as The Beatles suggested, but what happens when we don’t get all we need? That’s a great place for us to find comedy. I wrote these short stage stories (and some dozen more like them) for fun. Because individually and together, our world can get really serious, really fast. So while love may be what we all most want, maybe we can get more of what we need with a little laughter—and hope. To quote Tinderella, "I still need to believe that happy endings are possible. We all do."
I hope these QUICKIES bring you as much pleasure watching them as they gave me imagining them. I'm grateful to J.Marie Bailey for directing with love and humor, from the passionate point-of-view of a woman. Huge appreciation also goes to Donald Rupe and Chris Kampmeier for producing original (and female-written) works such as this. Most of all, thank YOU for your support of me, the Ren, and this lovely cast of players.
